Electrical Controls Engineer II

We are looking for a skilled and forward-thinking Electrical Controls Engineer II to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for programming automated machines to maximize mechanical design efficiency, including speed, changeovers, and overall performance. We are looking for someone to program machines to ensure the code is easy to follow, adheres to standards for the product category, and can be easily modified for future enhancements.

The ideal candidate will ensure our machines can be installed and started up in-field without requiring program modifications – making them fully supportable by any technician. You will also develop and maintain a base program that serves as a standardized foundation for all machines in the product category, with configurable options based on customer needs. We are looking for someone who ensures the latest electrical components and programming techniques are utilized and will bring innovation and efficiency to Infinity’s machine designs.

Employees MUST be willing to commute to or relocate close to our facility in De Pere, WI.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the programming of the machine in which responsible as assigned by the priority list / project manager.
  • To be involved in new machine development and make recommendations on mechanical design to enhance programming ease / electrical component utilization.
  • Perform engineering priority tasks assigned by Engineering leader on-time and within budget.
  • To be available for start-up questions from shop
  • To start-up new R&D machines and develop a program such that future machines can be started up without having programming expertise.
  • Responsible for cost reductions on existing equipment (electrical)
  • Ensure sold machines conform to product / technical specifications.
  • Make recommendations to mechanical engineers to enhance machine performance.
  • Ensure machines conform to company engineering standards.
  • Review and approve job-specific manuals – touchscreens/operations.
  • Travel less than 20%.

Experience:

  • Must have prior experience as an Electrical Controls Engineer
  • Allen Bradley Software: Studio 5000, Factory Talk View Studio
  • Allen Bradley Hardware: Kinetix 5700, Control Logix, Guard Logix
  • General experience with Fanuc robots, knowledge of RoboGuide, and PalletPro would be preferred.

Backup roles:

  • Engineering support on secondary machine responsibility.
  • Customer support.
